Property Taxes

  • County deadline for filing for Homestead exemption is now March
    1st.
  • Between Jan 2 and March 1, all property owners may file an
    amended return if they don't agree with current valuation of their
    property.
  • Go to room 503 in the County Courthouse, ask to "strike" a return
    and the clerk will supply the form. If you don't agree with the listed
    valuation, cross it out and write in your opinion of the correct value.

    We continue to seek ways to bring about tax relief through
    appeals and other local mechanisms.
