Vacation rentals are unquestionably a vital part of Tybee Island’s economy.
However, while Bed and
Breakfasts
are tightly regulated by City Ordinances, there are no comparabl
e regulations for private
residences used as
vacation rentals. Every summer we hear complaints about parking, noise,
occupancy levels and other problems.
Some Internet listings for vacation rentals advertise
occupancy numbers that would appear to challenge the
capacity of bedrooms and parking spaces.
