    Issue # 3
A new bill affecting property tax issues in Georgia. (S.B. 55, amending O.C.G.A. § 48-5-2,) mandates that tax
assessors consider foreclosure, bank and other financial institution owned sales, distress sales, and any
combination of comparable real property transfers in determining fair market value. Despite this we keep hearing
about appraisals that have increased on Tybee Island.

Please tell us about your experience with property taxes and what you think can be done to bring property tax
relief for those who own property on Tybee Island. Use the comment box below.
