| Volunteer Tybee! On behalf of our Volunteer Tybee Planning Committee, United Way's Hands on Savannah and Tybee Neighbors, we want to thank all of you who made our first Volunteer Tybee Event so successful. We sincerely appreciate the great work of all of our volunteer organizations who represented their organizations so effectively during our recruitment fair. We hope this event and our future p.r.efforts will bring new volunteers and contributions for your organizations. We also appreciate all those who attended to learn more about and recognize the wonderful work of Tybee volunteers. Your presence and support were vital in making this a great event. A special thanks to Douglas Jones who contributed the banners and Mayor Buelterman for the Proclamation and for being supportive of the event. We also want to thank all those who contributed door prizes. The door prizes helped make it a festive event. Volunteer Tybee involved hundreds of those who recognize the importance of volunteers on Tybee Island. A total of 387 votes were cast for our "Volunteer Tybee Organization of 2009". We want to congratulate the Milton Project for winning this honor. Cyndi Kinkel of The Tybee Times took great pictures of the event and WSAV had coverage that really captured the spirit of Volunteer Tybee on the news Wednesday night.
